Вестминстерское аббатство, Лондон

Westminster Abbey is the Coronation church of the British Monarchy, where the ceremony has been held 40 times since the Abbey’s construction in 1065. The tombs of medieval kings are placed under the Gothic roof, and knights of one of the highest orders, the Order of the Bath, gather in the chapel for traditional services. Kipling and Charles Dickens rest in the poets’ corner, the monument to Isaac Newton stands beside the gravestone of the Africa explorer David Livingstone; and the wreath of red poppies, the symbol of blood spilled on the fields of World War I, rests on the grave of the Unknown Soldier.
